Hi,

Recently I installed 3ds Max 9, and uninstalled 3ds Max 8.  However, when I try to install ColladaMax 3.0.2, the installer says:

"3ds Max 8.0 was found at C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3dsMax8\"

even though I deleted that folder.  As the installation process continues, the installer creates "3dsMax8\plugins" folder and installs files into the folder, but nothing is installed in the "3ds Max 9\plugins" folder.

Could you tell me how to install ColladaMax to my 3ds Max 9?  Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you for the reply. I'm not familiar with Windows registry, but the regedit says that I don't have the key you mentioned.

For Max 9.0, I have:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\9.0\MAX-1:411"

Meantime, as for Max 8.0, I have:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\8.0\MAX-1:409"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\8.0\MAX-1:411"

Hi Masanori,

If you copied all the keys from the: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\9.0\MAX-1:411" key into a new "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\3dsMax\9.0\MAX-1:409", the installer should work.

On my side, I'll modify the installer script to correctly support the Japanese version of 3dsMax 9.

With ColladaMax 3.03, installation onto the Japanese version of 3ds Max 9.0 was successful.
