3D Expertise
Our understanding of 3D graphics covers both theory and practice. We designed and programmed several 3D engines used commercially, in OpenGL and DirectX. We are active participants and supporters of the research community, e.g. Siggraph and Eurographics. We benefit from a wide network of close contacts and friends working in the game and film industry. Some of our areas of interest are listed below.

Graphics Hardware

  • Expert in all aspects of the OpenGL API, including all shading extensions
  • Direct3D through C++ and managed interface.
  • Deep understanding of PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii, Gamecube and XBox hardware architectures.
  • Complete familiarity with all parts of a modern graphics engine.

3D graphics and mathematics

  • Illumination models (local and global), shadow techniques, transparency, image-based lighting.
  • Procedural shading techniques and languages (OpenGL Shading Language, Cg/HLSL, Renderman).
  • Visibility determination: raytracing, rasterization, occlusion culling, acceleration structures.
  • Geometry representations: polygon meshes, subdivision schemes, NURBS.
  • Particles systems, image-based and volume rendering.
  • Geometric and shading LOD (level-of-detail) techniques.
  • Post-processes and compositing.
  • Games content creation process. Algorithms and techniques commonly used in game programming.
  • Experienced with Maya Plug-in API, MEL and content creation.
  • Advanced mathematics and physics applied to computer graphics and games.
  • Familiar with the latest graphics research.

Others

  • Medical imaging
  • Experienced with Matlab and image processing.
  • Intel Integrated Primitives and VTune.
  • Computer vision: feature tracking, segmentation, 3D reconstruction
